Terrible!

Ok, so I am absolutely terrible at blogging! It's been quiet a long time since I've posted anything. I don't think anybody really looks at the blog, but if somebody does, I'm sorry! I blame it on the wild, sweet, cute, funny little guy that consumes my time each day!

The last few months have flown by. Josh has grown up so quickly and changes each day. We will be going to the doctor in a couple weeks for his 9 month check-up. Then, I'll be able to update with weight, length, and all that good stuff! Josh is 81/2 months. He refuses to crawl and spends his time trying to figure out how to walk. He is beginning to pull up on things that are at his level. He gets extremely frustrated that he can't get around by himself. I recently bought him a walker that he prances and crashes around the house in! He is too funny! He LOVES to eat. He will just about eat any baby food that I give him. His favorites are sweet potatoes, green beans, and pears. We are trying to start some finger foods. He spends a lot of time eating cheerios (it takes a while to pick them up and get them to his mouth...a challenge for an 8 month old little guy!) He also had some toast last weekend for breakfast and eats little bites of what is on mommy's plate. He also enjoys drinking from his sippy cup! He loves to play with his toys. I have to stay close by because he likes to whack himself in the head with his toys (that's a boy for ya!) He is still teething so anything and everything goes into his mouth. His 2 bottom teeth are just about fully in. I keep waiting for one to come through on the top. Josh is a great sleeper (plays hard and sleeps hard!). He sleeps with his thumb in his mouth and with a lovey (his burp cloth). I love watching him sleep! There is so much more that I could say about Josh...I will try to post again soon with more and post some pictures. Josh is such a joy and, while he keeps me extremely busy, I am so grateful for the blessing of my son and can't imagine life without my chunky monkey!

The other big Holben news is that I quit my job since I was last on here. January 1 was my last day as a nurse on the Mother/Baby floor. While I was sad to leave my co-workers, nervous about our financial situation, and scared that I may lose my nursing skills, it has been a huge blessing to be at home each day with Josh. I know that God was calling me to quit my job and that He has a plan for our family's future. Right now, I'm looking for a flex time position (one where I can set my own schedule), but I'm praying that God will make it clear what He has for me to do. I truly feel that there is no greater role for me to pursue and fulfill than that of a mother.

Well, there is my brief update. I'm going to attempt to be better at this! We'll see how it goes!
