The past year craziness!

I don't even know where to start...our family has had a crazy year and so much has happened! I guess it all began in October 2008. My husband and I had started discussing the possibility of having a child. At the same time, my husband decided (after much discussion and prayer) to quit his job. So, being the practical people that we are, we decided it best to put our plans for a baby on hold until we were both employed. God, however, had different plans! We found out we were pregnant just a few weeks later!! We were thrilled and terrified at the same time. I am a control freak, a planner, and a worrier...not a good combination for a situation like this! Of course, God had a perfect plan and wanted to teach us to rely on Him and His timing! A few months later, Andrew found a job selling packaging supplies (anyone need a large roll of bubble wrap?). The job was a HUGE blessing. Not only did God give him a job in the midst of an economic crisis, but He gave Andrew a great job that fit his personality and also provided for our family while he was job searching (we can't explain how our bank account didn't drop even though we lost his paycheck!).

In addition to the blessing of a job, God blessed us with a son, Joshua Forrest Holben, on July 4, 2009! He is 8 weeks old now. While we would like to be getting a little more sleep at night, I can't imagine what we ever did without our sweet baby boy. He has brought us so much joy with each snuggle, big ole' gummy grin, and sound he makes (usually grunting!). It is extremely humbling to be entrusted by God with the responsibility of raising His child! Here are a few pictures of our little guy. I will post more about Josh and what he is doing shortly.
